M
SERIES MITSUBISHI MODULE PCB KIT
These
Kits are to suit the older Mitsubishi Modules that some Hams or
suppliers may have in stock.
Kits
include PC Board, Instructions & all onboard components. We
are not able to supply the M series Mitsubishi modules to suit
these.
Use
the M57762 KIT1 for M57735 Modules as they have the same pinout
& bias.
With
the M57727 Modules the bias & 1st DC supply pins 2 & 3
are the reverse of the M57762 & M57735 modules. So you can
use either the M57716 or M57762 kits but you will have to change
the component positions & cut a track on the PC board to suit.

WATT 2.4GHz AMPLIFIER KIT
This
Modern High Performance 2.4GHz Power Amplifier uses a low cost
PHEMT MMIC IC. The MMIC provides a gain of 29dB & a saturated
output power of more than +33dBm. The MMIC requires minimal
input & output matching to 50ohms, & makes other discrete
PA designs using GaAs & HFET's etc, virtually obsolete for
these power levels. The PA is suitable for use with the current
2400MHz Transverter, & ATV Transmitter Kits. The PA uses
a high performance switching power supply along with bias protection
circuitry, to provide high efficiency over a wide input voltage
range, & has very low heat dissipation. Due
to a Spectrum Analyzer being required to tune this Amplifier,
it is for advanced constructors only. The Module requires a
heat sink, connectors & miscellaneous hardware to complete.
Specifications:
PCB Dimensions:
37x47mm
Supply Voltage: 9v min to 14v max
Current 650mA @ 12v input
Gain: 29dB Minimum
Bandwidth: 2350 - 2450MHz 100MHz
@ 1dB
Output Power: 2Watts +33dBm @ 1dB
Comp
Input Power: 4dBm (2.5mW) for 33dBm
(2Watt) Output.
Please
Note: This PA is not suitable for Wireless Lan or
( WiFi ) as it is not Bi-Directional.
You will require an Amateur Radio License or equivalent qualifications
to purchase this Product.
This
Product is only available to licensed operators in the 2400MHz
band. It
is Illegal to use this Product on unlicensed low power wireless
Lan, video senders, video surveillance or any other LIPD device
without a license.

will fit the available Heatsink1. A simple tinplate or brass
cover can be fabricated to fit the Heat sink to cover the amplifier.
A drill press along
with a 2.5mm metal working Tap is required to Tap the Heat sink.
PLEASE
NOTE: This Kit is for Advanced constructors
Only. This Kit requires experience in surface mount soldering,
along with metal working to complete successfully. A
Spectrum Analyzer is required for tuning this Amplifier for full
output Power.
This
is a High Performance Power Amplifier with a High Efficiency Switch
Mode Power supply, suitable for operation between 5 & 14V
DC. This should not be compared to Higher
Powered Surplus Commercial Amplifiers.

PREAMPLIFIER KIT
Receive
only pre amp built on G10 PC board. Suitable for use from 1200MHz
to 2500MHz. Single stage uses a MGF1302 GasFET, dual stage uses
a MGF1302 & ERA amplifier. Most receive setups including Satellite
receivers will only usually require the single stage version.
If the preamplifier is to be mounted at the antenna with lossy
cable, then the dual stage version should be used. Kit includes
PC board & all on board components, requires box, connectors,
& miscellaneous hardware to complete. For
best Performance, only A SMA or N Type connector should be used
on the input. SMA sockets are recommended
for most applications. Also suitable
for 1700MHz Weather Satellite use.
Specifications:
Dual
Stage Prototypes tuned with an SMA input socket measured on a
( HP 8970B )
0.51dB Noise Figure & 33dB gain @ 1250MHz,
0.62dB NF & 26.64dB gain @ 1500MHz,
1.6dB NF & 24.5dB gain @ 2400MHz
Power: 10-15 volts Single Stage 15mA, Dual Stage 65mA
PCB Board size 68x37mm
For
single stage gain subtract around 12dB from the above dual stage
gain figures.

6M
PREAMPLIFIER KIT
The
Preamplifier has been designed to be relatively easy to construct,
& only uses conventional components, ( No SMD ). The preamp
can be centre frequency tuned from 40 to 60MHz, & is suitable
for the 6M 50 - 54MHz Amateur band, & also suitable for low
Band TV DX. The Preamp uses a low cost BF988A MesFET, which has
good strong signal handing characteristics. The design incorporates
RF changeover Relays & power supply decoupling so that power
can be fed via the coaxial cable. It is simple to tune, &
does not have any instability problems due to the use of a wideband
output matching circuit. The Basic EME157 Kits include, PC board
& all on board components, requires box, connectors, &
miscellaneous hardware to complete.
The
difference between the KITA & B is only the Relays. All RF
changeover components are still supplied in the RX only Kit.

To
connect the Antenna to the Preamp, & Preamp to the main feedline,
we recommend the use of LMR240 cable with crimped BNC connectors.
LMR240 is double shielded & has losses similar to RG213 cable,
but has a much smaller 6mm diameter. Refer to our catalogue section3.pdf
for LMR240 cable & connectors. The GME Masthead box will accept
cables up to around 8mm in diameter. Therefore larger cables like
RG8/213 cannot be used with this box. Larger cables would also
place too much strain on the BNC sockets on the Preamplifier.
Please
Note: Mini-Kits cannot be expected to take responsibility to make
this product work on your Radio. We can only give guidance on
how best to use this product. Many Radios may need modification
for a TX voltage output to hard switch the preamp when using high
power. Some Radios like the TS2000 do not feed +12 volts out the
Antenna socket when the preamp switch is turned on, so either
power & switching cables need to be run to the preamplifier,
or a bias T will have to be constructed to feed power up the coaxial
cable & connect to the Radios TX voltage output.
We
don't expect that many will have any problems with the standard
plastic Mast Head box compared to a shielded one. It may help
only to keep some strong out of band Ham signals e.g. 2M or 70cm
from entering the preamplifier & possibly overloading the
Radios Receiver.

2M
PREAMPLIFIER KIT
The
Preamplifier has been designed to be relatively easy to construct,
& only uses conventional components, ( No SMD ). The preamp
can be centre frequency tuned from 120 to 150MHz, & is suitable
for the 2M 144 - 148MHz Amateur band, & also suitable for
Weather Satellite reception on 137MHz. The Preamp uses a low cost
BF988A MesFET, which has good strong signal handing characteristics.
The design incorporates RF changeover Relays & power supply
decoupling so that power can be fed via the coaxial cable. It
is simple to tune, & does not have any instability problems
due to the use of a wideband output matching circuit. The Basic
EME157 Kits include, PC board & all on board components, requires
box, connectors, & miscellaneous hardware to complete.
