EME101B MULTIPLIER KIT
      Thursday 31st May 07

ALL TESTS WERE MEASURED IN CONTROLLED LABORATORY CONDITIONS USING CALIBRATED TEST EQUIPMENT

BELOW SHOWS THE TESTED RESULTS OF THE PROTOTYPE KITS

The Above Chart shows mainly the filter response of the EME101 Multiplier Kit using a 3.275 to 3.65GHz -5dBm input signal. The -3dB points were measured at 3.310 to 3.620GHz ( 310MHz Bandwidth ). Maximum output 3450MHz was measured at +16dBm saturated with a -4dBm input signal
( 20dB Gain ). For use as a Filter for a SSB Transverter the following measurements were made on the above for various Frequencies that would be Image frequencies. An IF at 144MHz & below would not be acceptable.

3256MHz ( 3400-144MHz ) 2M IF Filter respose was down by only 13dB which is poor & is way off the -16dB for acceptable image rejection.

2970MHz ( 3400-432MHz ) 70cm IF Filter response was down by 50dB which is very good.

2104MHz ( 3400-1296MHz ) 23cm IF Filter response was down by 59.5dB which is very good.

The Above Chart shows the response of the EME101 Multiplier Kit using a 1.1 to 1.2GHz +3dBm input signal. The -3dB points were measured at 3.3426 and 3.6039GHz. The ripple is due to the ERA3 Multiplier efficiency with different input frequencies. Compared to the other chart above the Multiplier efficiency drops off below 3.370GHz, but still has usable output to around 3.325GHz

The Above Chart shows the Spurious output levels with a 1.15GHz +3dBm Input.

ABOVE IMAGE SHOWS HOW THE PCB IS SOLDERED TO THE TIN OR BRASS STRIP. NOTE
THE USE OF 2 X SMA09 CONNECTORS THAT ARE SOLDERED DIRECTLY TO THE BOARD

ABOVE IMAGE SHOWS HOW THE REGULATOR & 10uF ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR
ARE SOLDERED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BOARD.
